Here is a quick link to a good article on the proposed changes to a part of the Federal Fisheries Act. The change, being slight that it is, would have huge impacts throughout all of Canada. The word 'habitat' would be replaced with a much more vague “fish of economic, cultural or ecological value.” This would make any case of protecting aquatic habitat much harder, by requiring whom ever to prove the fish are some how important and valuable. Here I thought we lived in a country and society where we proudly believe that all life and environment is valuable without question.
